I would be happy to! Ok how about a true and happy story? That might help!

Ok so my dad is a minister and he finished marrying a couple and was standing with on the side as the newly wed couple danced and the guests watched (and some guests danced too).

My dad looks off to the road that leads to where the wedding is (it was outdoors) and he sees a man standing by a car, looking at the wedding. My dad walked over to him and the man told my dad that one of the brides was his daughter.

My dad had heard about how he didn’t approve of her marrying a woman when he was talking to the couple before the wedding.

“This just isn’t what I expected” the father said after a moment, looking on at the wedding, probably assuming that my dad had heard about his disapproval. 

“Do you want her to be happy?” my dad asked

“Of course” the man replied

“Look at her” my dad said, gesturing to the beaming bride in the distance “doesn’t she look happy?”

The man stood for a moment, looking at his daughter, smiling and happy and without a word walked towards the couple. My dad couldn’t hear what he said to his daughter, but when he was done, his daughter hugged him.

My dad walked towards the wedding and watched as the bride got a father daughter dance that she never thought would happen. 

At the end of the wedding as people were leaving the father thanked my dad, telling him that he loves his daughter very much and he doesn’t want to loose her. 

“When she looks that happy” the father said “I think I can get used to the idea that she married a woman.”

Well that’s an interesting question Anon.

I would say that he’s locally famous. You can’t walk down the street (in the city where he works) with him without being stopped because someone calls out his name or wants to talk to him.

He’s been in some magazines and on TV.

Also when my brother was in Cuba someone asked him if he worked with my dad, which he did. And when my parents and I went to France we also ran into someone who knew him, but that is just the ‘small world’ co-incidence kind of thing.

My dad works to help the homeless people in the city about an hour from where I live and had gotten known around the city for it.
